The Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council, Inc. will present an Evening with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra under the tent in Arrowhead Park in Inlet on Friday, July 24.
This year’s concert, will carry the patriotic theme of America the Beautiful, and will be conducted by Ward Stare, who was appointed the RPO’s Music Director on September 1, 2014.
Stare, a native of Pittsford, NY, was trained as a trombonist at the Juilliard School in Manhattan.
He was appointed principal trombonist of the Lyric Opera of Chicago at the age of 18 and has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic, among others.
He has been lauded internationally for his work as a conductor having performed with The Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Bangkok Symphony, the London Philharmonic and the Norwegian National Opera, among others.
He was Resident Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2012, making his Carnegie Hall debut with the orchestra in 2009.
Among his debuts in his 2014 to 2015 season are performances with the Baltimore Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, the New World Symphony…and at Inlet’s Arrowhead Park with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
General admission tickets and tickets for the pre-event cocktail party at the Woods Inn are currently available for purchase at the Inlet and Old Forge Visitor Information Offices.
General admission is $30, with $25 pre-sale tickets available through June 30.
Tickets for the fundraising cocktail party are $125 and includes preferred concert seating.
A limited number of teen tickets will be available this year to kids under the age of 19 at a cost of $15.
The orchestra will present a free children’s concert at 3 p.m. the day of performance.
