Following a five-year hiatus and a whole lot of encouragement, the producers of the Adirondack Elegant Ladies calendar will soon be releasing the 2016 edition of their previously sold-out inaugural edition.
The projected release date is June 1, just in time to get the calendars in the hands of locals and visitors as the busy season kicks in.
The calendar again features the familiar faces of women who work in various capacities in the Central Adirondacks, from business owners to bakers, to tavern workers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Photographer Dave Scranton and his production crew of Mindy Hoegerl, Andrea DeShaw, and Joan Breisch, traveled to various sites to capture their models in their respective natural habitats.
Among the shooting locations were Alger Island Boat Launch, Prospect Point in Blue Mt. Lake, Screamen Eagle, Adirondack Scenic Railroad, Woods Inn, Black Bear Lodge and Garnet Hill Lodge.
The crew handles every aspect of production and donates all their time and efforts.
Hoegerl is producer, DeShaw takes care of sales, Breisch is distributor, and Scranton takes the pictures and works with the printer on the calendar layout.
The calendars are available for a $20 donation with proceeds split between regional organizations, Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks (HASCA) of Old Forge, and High Peaks Hospice of Saranac Lake, the sole recipient of funds raised in the first edition.
The 2011 calendar raised $6,500 for the organization, but the production team has set $10,000 as the goal for their 2016 effort.
Calendars will be available for purchase at area retail stores, taverns, restaurants, and book stores, or from any of the production team members.
