On Thursday, April 30 our home of 40 years was destroyed by fire at Big Moose Station.
We are forever grateful to the firefighters that battled the ornery blaze for so many hours.
The men and women of four departments clearly displayed expertise, professionalism and aggressiveness throughout the battle and because of this we were able to retrieve a few precious mementos in the following days.
A big thank you to the Big Moose, Eagle Bay, Inlet and Old Forge Fire Departments and to the Big Moose and Inlet Ambulances for standby assistance.
Also a big thanks to the Jolly Moosers, the Eagle Bay Ladies Auxiliary and Herb and Carol from Kalils Grocery of Inlet providing ongoing nourishment to the fire personnel.
As well, a big thank you to all with your emergency clothing, food and housing as well as the generous offers, well wishes and good old fashion friendship.
