Thanks to all for Community Pride Day participation, May 6th

A huge thank you must go out to everyone who participated in the CAA’s regional Community Pride Day.

On Wednesday, May 6, over 800 volunteers, students and teachers were out and about cleaning up the streets in Thendara, Old Forge, Eagle Bay, Big Moose, Inlet, Raquette Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake, Indian Lake, Lake Pleasant and Piseco! 

Most of the volunteers agreed that there was less trash this year than last year, which is something we hope continues every year.

The ash grey t-shirts worn by the volunteers were made possible with $100 contributions from: ACE Hardware of Inlet & Old Forge, Adirondack Express, Adirondack Fairway B&B, Adirondack Museum, BJ Queen Building & Mechanical.

Lunch in Old Forge was provided by DiOrio’s Supermarket, Gallery 3040, Kinney Drugs, Old Forge Fire Department, Old Tom Morris Pub & Grill, Ozzie’s Coffee Shop, Randy’s Restaurant, Tony Harper’s and Walt’s Diner.

Route 30 One Stop provided lunch in Indian Lake.

A special thank you to Tal Daiker for delivering the shirts from Pennsylvania to Inlet; saving us shipping charges.

Thank you to the Towns of Webb, Inlet, Long Lake and Indian Lake and the Speculator Chamber of Commerce for recruiting sponsors, making lunch arrangements and picking up the bags of trash on the sides of the road left by the volunteers.

Community Pride Day gives everyone a chance to take pride in this beautiful area we call home. We encourage everyone to continue this effort throughout the year… and we’ll gather again the first Wednesday in May 2016.
