VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, will celebrate two new exhibitions, the Central Adirondack Art Show and Denis Defibaugh’s Afterlives of Natural History, at an opening reception on Saturday, May 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The reception is open to the public and free of charge. Refreshments and light fare will be served.

The Central Adirondack Art Show, a 64-year tradition, showcases works in all medium including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, and more. It will be on exhibit through June 22.

Afterlives of Natural History highlights the work of Denis Defibaugh, a photojournalist and professor of photography at Rochester Institute of Technology who utilizes expired Polaroid film to document preserved specimens of various birds.

This collection of prints focuses on the duality of preservation and decay inherent within natural history collections. It will remain on exhibit through July 10.
