The winners of an art and essay contest sponsored by the Valley of Utica, Yahnun-dahsis Bodies Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, were recognized at the organization’s annual Family Life Observance Recognition dinner held at the Roselawn Restaurant on Sunday, April 19.

The contest was open to students representing 40 area school districts, who followed the theme of Conservation. 

Art poster winners were grouped by grade levels kindergarten through 3; essay winners by grades 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12. First place winners received $200, second place $100, and third place winners $50.

Students representing school districts, from TOW UFSD to Cooperstown Central School, received invitations to the Valley of Utica’s 31st Family Life Observance.

Natalie Brownsell, a seventh grader at Town of Webb School won second place in the 7 to 9th grade essay contest.
