To the Editor:
On the surface it looks like I, Parker Snead, Supervisor to the Town of Forestport, am the one being attacked.
My wife and I are being attacked, but so are all of us who want a better town for ourselves and our families.
We now have a situation where anyone wanting to run for an office, to serve our town, risks being threatened and slandered by the same small group that has made it their goal to ruin the reputation of myself and my wife, and our business of 35 years, Forestport Boat Company.
This group cares not that their scorched-earth tactics damage the whole Town of Forestport.
You saw it in the 2013 campaign—a campaign that has continued with these people, despite the voters having spoken on primary and election days.
On social media, the ugly anonymous posts have been countless and continue to this day.
They joke about who would dare to run for office after what they have done to us and our business.
I would guess that probably no one will run that doesn’t have the support of this small but hateful group.
First, the only political organization we have in Forestport is the Republican Committee chaired by Bill Hasenauer.
The members are Harold Entwistle II (T.J. Entwistle’s father), David Kardash (Nancy Kardash’s husband), and Bill Gardner.
David Ultsch is their very good friend. His role is obvious.
Even though I am a Republican and the incumbent, this group does not support me.
They actually oppose me and would like to orchestrate my removal.
Someone they might field against me is T.J. Entwistle, a group member’s son.
If I were to step down, as Dave Ultsch demands, and no other Republican candidate comes forward for fear of getting slandered the way I have, this group’s chosen one—T.J. or whoever—would glide to victory.
This is also true of the two board seats that are up for reelection.
Nancy Kardash has good support from this group, her husband being among them, as stated.
Joanne Kwasniewski, however, is already under attack, along with her family.
My attorneys are well aware of this organized smear campaign against me, which they call a political “take down.” I am innocent and will continue to do my job to the best of my ability.
When I am free to speak, I will have a lot to say.
Parker Snead, Town of Forestport Supervisor
