At our Senior Health, Activity & Recreation Program (SHARP), our participants enjoy a great bond with friends and share lots of laughter.
Anyone who comes to SHARP gets to voice what activities they would like to do and what programs they would like to participate in.
Since we began in February, we have already enjoyed many of the things suggested by participants.
SHARP is a free program that takes place every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Niccolls Memorial Church on Crosby Blvd. in Old Forge.
SHARP is open to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake, and is a free program unless otherwise noted.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Town of Webb Health Center Fund.
Upcoming Wednesday events include a mystery-themed day on April 22 and storytelling by special guest Mitch Lee on April 29.
As always there will also be card games, future event planning, and a trip to TOW School by the Forever Young group to read with students.
SHARP participants will soon be announcing their plans for a community fundraising event on Saturday, June 6, so mark your calendar now and stay tuned to our weekly articles for more information.
