Elmer Crounse, 84, passes away

Elmer Crounse, 84, of Tuttle Road, Old Forge, NY, passed away on February 22, 2015 in Honolulu, HI.

Mr. Crounse was born in Albany, November 15, 1930, son of Elmer and Charlotte Crounse. He was educated in the Albany Schools. In 1955 he married Noreen Fisher.   

Mr. Crounse was employed by the New York Central Railroad, retiring in the late 1960’s. In 1968 he opened a NAPA store and a laundromat in Old Forge. He later opened NAPA Stores in Oneonta and Boonville.

He was a member of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church and Northwoods Lodge F & AM both in Old Forge.

He is survived by his son Mark of Oneonta, a brother Robert of Michigan and his friend Joyce Roper of Old Forge. He was predeceased by his wife Noreen and two sons, Bob and Scott Crounse.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Arrangements are with Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Old Forge.
