The Kindergarten and 2nd Grade classes hosted a Dr. Seuss Night for the second year in a row. There were even more games and activities than last year with many parents and students in attendance.

Mrs. Griffin and I hosted a Welcome Club Ice Cream Social for all students who are new to the Town of Webb.

Superintendent’s ReportMr. Rex Germer included the topics:

At this time we do not have a coach for Modified Baseball. The Spring Coaches we took action on at the last meeting did not include a person to fill this position.

The Civil Service test for Account Clerk was given this past Saturday. We should have an initial list available to us from the county later this week.

There were over 50 individuals who took this test.

There hasn’t been any movement at the State level to give us any more information regarding aide in the coming year to help us with budgeting.

We have reported to the State, as required, that at this point we do not plan to pierce the “Tax Cap” with our next budget.

This can be modified if we need to later.

Congratulations to all of our winter athletes on their seasons and titles won. The season was highlighted at the Sports Awards last night.

Mr. Swick has been working with local organizations and with our students and staff to increase the offerings for student activities that allow for better choices and experiences.

The latest occurred last Friday with a trip, sponsored and supervised by Kiwanis, to a Comets Hockey Game.

Thirty-eight students participated in this opportunity that was opened up to 9–12 grade students.

Thank you to Kiwanis for providing this opportunity.

Our physical education department will also be taking trips into our surroundings to engage in activities in our natural surroundings during the coming months as part of this thought process as well.

Typically students go canoeing for finals and snowshoeing for midterms but we have asked them to plan other activities of longer duration outside of those two regularly scheduled events.

The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm in the library of the school.
