Inlet Common School students cooking up fun with PARP program

Inlet Common School kicked off its annual PARP program on Tuesday, February 24 to the theme of  Cook up a Good Book. In keeping with the theme, students and teachers traveled to the Seventh Lake House and became chefs for a day.

Students prepared a lunch of turkey toes, roasted tomato bread soup, vegetable and cheese flatbread, and Oreo Balls under the direction of Chef Jim Holt. Everyone created a hand-designed apron and demonstrated proper table etiquette as they enjoyed the meal.

The Inlet teachers’ commitment and belief in the PARP program is strong, said Superintendent/Principal Christine Holt, as the school has had great success and 100% student participation in the past.

Among the many activities and special events planned for the duration of the program are food label nutrition, reading recipes and designing a cookbook.
