Webb Girls Team takes Section III Nordic Ski Championship

The Town of Webb School Varsity Nordic Ski Team participated in Section III Nordic Championship races on Wednesday and Thursday, February 11 and 12 which resulted in the girls team being named Section III Champions, and team member Megan Greene the title of Section III individual champion.

Champions are determined based on combined results of two sectional races: a distance race held at McCauley Mountain on Wednesday and the relay raceĀ  held at Holland Patent High School on Thursday.

The Webb girls team of Megan Greene, Allyson Brosemer and Emily Greene won the girls 3×2.5 team classic relay in 34:06. Greene placed first in the 7.5K freestyle race in 28:41 and won the 3K classic relay with a time of 10:36.

The boys team of Tyler Rudolph, Mac Ritz and Henry Uzdavinis came in second place in the relay race.

Rudolph and Uzdavinis were named to the boys state team. The entire girls team, which also includes Rachel Smith, Laura Levi and Olivia Phaneuf, also advanced to take part in the Nordic Ski State Competition that will be held at Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid on February 23 and 24.

Both the boys and girls teams are coached by John Leach.
