The Eagle Bay community once again came together to hold its annual, old fashioned, Tree Lighting ceremony at the community Christmas tree located on the side of the new Eagle Bay Information Center at the corner of Big Moose Rd. and Rte 28 in Eagle Bay.
This annual Yuletide event, sponsored by the Eagle Bay Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and the Town of Webb was held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.
Traditional Christmas caroling around the live Christmas Tree led by Andi and Ray Smith was a big hit with the crowd and was then followed by the traditional push-of-the-switch by Greg Clark which lit up the beautiful Christmas tree.
A Pot-Luck supper with delicious food and refreshments followed at the Eagle Bay Fire Hall.
Live entertainment was also provided at the fire hall by Ray Smith who played his guitar. Ray was joined by his wife Andi Smith and neighbors Sandy Booton, Joan Briesch, and Eugene Melnyczuk who sang Christmas songs to entertain the huge crowd at the fire hall.
After a delicious potluck meal, Andi Smith read the “ Night Before Christmas” to all the children and, as promised, Santa Claus arrived on the scene to pass out gifts to all the good little girls and boys.
The Eagle Bay Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary would like to THANK everyone who attended our affair and all who brought a dish to pass for our potluck dinner.
There was a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from and a huge array of delicious desserts to complete the meal.
The Eagle Bay Fire Depart-ment Ladies Auxiliary especially thanks Stephanie and Greg Clark of Clark Energy, LLC of Eagle Bay for donating the turkey breasts, ham, and roast beef for our potluck dinner and special thanks goes out to Danny Hitchcock and the entire staff at Dan’s Big M in Eagle Bay for their support to cook and slice all the meat for our event.
We also thank the Town of Webb maintenance workers for decorating our community Christmas Tree.
Once again, this Annual Tree Party was a huge success because of your help and generosity. We appreciate the outstanding support from our neighbors who live in and near our Eagle Bay community for making this annual event so very special here in Eagle Bay!
