VIEW announces winter season and holiday performances

VIEW has scheduled two weekends of performances in December that can be enjoyed by viewers of all ages.

No turning back

The season will kick off on Friday, December 5 with the ever-popular ski film: Warren Miller’s No Turning Back at 7 p.m.

Warren Miller Entertain-ment’s highly anticipated 65th film examines the heritage that has continued to document the cutting edge of winter sports—from early alpine racing to todays’s big mountain exploration—taking viewers to such locations as the top of Greece’s Mount Olympus, Japan and the Swiss Alps.

General admission tickets are $10.

The Sound of Music

On Sunday, December 7, the classic musical The Sound of Music will be performed live by Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts at 2 p.m.

This is a timeless story that is sure to please the whole family.

Tickets are $20/$15 for VIEW members and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

It’s a Wonderful Life

It’s A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play will be performed live by Pendragon Theatre on Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m.

This beloved American holiday classic will come to life as a 1940s radio broadcast, outlining the unfolding story of idealistic George Bailey who considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

Tickets are $20/$18 for VIEW members and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

A Tapestry Christmas

A repertoire of music celebrating Advent and Christmas and the themes of prophecy, the angels and shepherds, and the nativity will be performed on Sunday, December 14 at 3 p.m.

A choir, directed by G. Roberts Kolb, D.M.A., Professor of Music at Hamilton College, will perform music from six centuries, including works by Tye, Palestrina, Sweelinck, Monte-verdi, J. C. F. Bach (one of J. S. Bach’s sons), Brahms, Distler, and Lauridsen.

General admission tickets are $10 or $5 for students.
