Local author to lead Open Mic night at Old Forge Library on Nov. 19th

Writers, aspiring writers, songwriters and the public are invited to share their work at an Open Mic night at the Old Forge Library on Wednesday, November 19.

The program, in a coffee house setting, will begin at 7 p.m. with Jeanne Whyte as emcee and featured reader.

Whyte, an architect and published author, is a year round resident of Inlet. She spent her early life near Rome, NY  before moving with her family to Virginia.

She was an architect in private practice in the Washington DC and Virginia area for 25 years. In mid-winter 2010, she closed her practice, sold her home in Virginia, and rebuilt her rustic camp on Seventh Lake.

Whyte’s recently released book, Renovation, describes the renovation of her own life; restoring the heart and finding her home in the Adirondack Mountains.

For planning purposes, participants are asked to call the library at (315) 369-6008, however walk-ins are welcome.

These readings are held to inspire writers and create opportunities for regional writers to meet. The library’s Open Mic for Writers Series is co-sponsored by Adirondack Center for Writing.
