Webb School Key Club officers announced

Town of Webb School Key Club officers for 2014 to 2015 were introduced at a meeting of the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks held at VIEW on Sunday, October 5th.

They are President Mara Gaffney, Vice President Briana Brownsell, Secretary Melissa Murphy and Treasurer Olivia Phaneuf.

“We have had a very successful year. Our students participate in many school activities, besides academics. They make time to help others and they have grown in many ways, such as taking responsibilities seriously and caring for their community,” said Key Club Advisor Diane Amos.

Amos, a Family and Consumer Science teacher at TOW School, also serves as Builders Club advisor.

Earlier this year Amos received a congratulatory letter from Congressman Bill Owens for her many years of service to the Key Club and community.

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks is pleased to salute and commend the Town Of Webb School Key Club and Builders Club for their outstanding performance during the 2013 to 2014 school year.

This year the Key Club had 54 members who contributed 1,760 community service hours. The Builders Club had 14 members who contributed 377 community service hours, for a combined total of 2,137.

Key Club and Builders Club made donations of $100 to the Old Forge Library’s Elf Walk, $330 to Food Pantry, $500 to KYAC’s fundraising Winter Sports Challenge, and $35 to the Kiwanis International Eliminate project.
