The First Friday Art Walk in Old Forge on August 1 will feature a variety of venues for art lovers to shop, eat, listen to music, meet artists and view demonstrations from 5 to 8 p.m.
First Friday Art Walks run through October and include a raffle for a unique item each month.
To enter, a participant can pick up a card at any First Friday location and have it stamped.
The card can be dropped off or carried to other First Friday locations for stamping.
Among the participants are:
Dragonfly Cottage – Marsha Herr will demonstrate the new PRO looms currently available at Dragonfly Cottage with a program, “The Potholder Loom Grows Up.”
Gallery 3040 – Wine Reception for Chad Smith, Best of Show winner of 2014 Finger Lakes Plein Air Festival. Live music by Bonnie and Jim Tracy.
Ozzies’s Coffee Bar – Local quilt maker Margaret Sykes will display a variety of her handmade quilts.
5 Corners Café – Featuring the pen and ink drawings of artist RC Oster.
Old Forge Library – Opening reception, 5 to 7 p.m., for award-winning artist Gordon Bashant’s, “Main Street and More” exhibit featuring paintings that include landmarks on Main Street Old Forge. Acoustic music by Dan Vellone.
Sisters Bistro – Live music by Beth and Fritz.
Walt’s Diner – Award-winning photographer Sue Kiesel will display and sell her wildlife photography and sign copies of her newly released children’s book, “The Many Faces of Snowy Owls.”
Goodsell Museum – Take a tour of the museum and enjoy the current exhibit, Webb: Wired to Wireless, which chronicles the technological advances made in the Town of Webb during the last century.
Live music will be provided by Doug Green.
The Starving Artist Gallery – View the handcrafted work of a number of area artists.
