Inlet Historical Society seeking rightful homes for Holl’s commemorative plates

Last year, the Inlet Historical Society received over 300 plates made by the Holl’s Inn family commemorating their guests’ weddings and other celebrations held at the historic hotel over a period of 70 years. a fred hodges DSC07875

Since then, a few have come forward and have recovered the memorial plate for their family.

Members of the Historical Society have put together a list of the names of the folks on the remaining plates, including the date of the special occasion.

Anyone who would like to take a look at the list and claim their plate or that of a family member can contact Mitch Lee at the Inlet Tourism Office at (315) 357-5501.

Anyone who recognizes a name the list that isn’t part of their family, but knows the family indicated, is asked to inform them that their commemorative plate is available.

The Historical Society suggests a donation of $25 or a membership to their organization at the desired level to help compensate them for the efforts in caring for the plates.

“The Society  thanks the Holl family and the current owners for forwarding the plates to the Society, some of which we will retain as regional artwork as well as Holl’s Inn artifacts,” said Charles Herr, Inlet Historical board member.
