Authors Carol and David White will offer a discussion on hiking hazards and best safety practices in the high peaks of the Adirondacks and New England during a power point presentation at the Old Forge Library on Tuesday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The Whites, of Clinton, have written numerous books on hiking. They have completed winter climbs of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks, the 48 White Mountains of New Hampshire, and the 35 high peaks of the Catskills.
David served as a director of ADK from 2004 to 2010, and Carol served on the executive committee of the Adirondack 46ers from 2003 to 2007. She received the Susan B. Anthony Legacy Award with polar explorer Ann Bancroft and long-distance swimmer Lynne Cox in 2007.
