An open letter from the Webb Town Board

To Senator Farley, Congressman Butler and
others:

The Town of Webb Town Board and the communities that it represents would like to express our concerns on the disrepair of State Route 28.

Route 28 is the only road through this area. We feel that it is unacceptable for many reasons.

Those of us that travel the road daily, our vehicles are beat to death over the unavoidable pot holes and uneven blacktop spots…unacceptable.

For all the delivery trucks that service our local businesses and lose product due to the rough road…unacceptable.

Area contractors with larger equipment and trailers have undue maintenance due to the road… unacceptable.

Our tourist trade keeps a viable community…No one wants to trailer a boat or a camper over these roads. Not a welcoming experience…unacceptable.

Motorcycles use Route 28 as a scenic loop through the Adirondacks. Not an enjoyable trip due to the road hazards…unacceptable.

The worst areas I feel are from Bald Mountain pond area to Daikers and Inlet to Raquette Lake. There are others, but these are the worst.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter
