Boater Safety Courses set in Inlet, Raquette

New York State Boater Safety Courses are being offered in Raquette Lake and Inlet in June and July.

The NYS Boater Safety Certificate is required for boat operators ages 10 to 18 and adults operating solo, and mandatory for all PWC operators from ages 14 to adult.

The first eight-hour course will be held at the Raquette Lake Fire Department on Route 28 on Friday, June 27 from 6 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, June 28 from 2 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Another course will take place at the Inlet Town Hall on Friday, July 11 from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, July 12 from 2 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to noon. Students must attend all three sessions for certification. Registration is available by calling (315) 723-9041. Space is limited to 20 participants per class.
