Magician to bring anti-drug message to Webb students

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks and Town of Webb School Key Club will bring Karvell the Magician to the Town of Webb School on Wednesday, May 7 to present an anti-drug program, There is No Magic in Drugs.

Karvell will mix magic and illusions while delivering his anti-drug message to fourth, fifth and sixth grade students.

During his presentation Karvell will interact with students and invite volunteers to help him perform magic tricks, including escaping from chain handcuffs and turning three pieces of rope—long, medium and short in lenght—into three equal-length pieces.

Karvell has been sharing his magic and his message to school children throughout the state for over 18 years.

During his program he will share his own earlier experiences with alcohol and drug abuse and the painful consequences that accompanied them.

The assembly was arranged by TOW School Counselor Kandis Griffin who said Karvell will also deliver an anti-bullying message to the students.

Anti-bullying bracelets, funded by the Webb Way program, will be distributed at the assembly.
