The Town of Webb got some good news from the New York State Unified Court System, said Town Supervisor Ted Riehle.
Town Justice Jack Graham received notification that the Justice Court Assistance Program (JCAP) has awarded $13,000 to the Town, which will go toward the court’s renovation project.
JCAP was established by the State Legislature in 1999 at the request of the Unified Court System.
“The purpose was to help provide the state’s town and village courts with necessary resources and equipment to fulfill their critical role in our justice system,” stated James C. Tormey, Fifth District Administrative Judge.
Under the Court System’s “action plan” for the justice courts, JCAP has been expanded.
The level of funding and the scope of funded projects have both grown.
The Webb Town Court was one of 474 courts receiving JCAP funding this year.
The funds have already been received and deposited, according to Riehle.
