Library contest winners to be named, March 25

Winners of the Old Forge Library’s Poetry and Illustration Contest, “Times Gone By,” will be announced during an Opening Exhibit Reception, hosted by the Friends of the Library, on Tuesday, March 25 at 7 p.m.

Over 100 illustration and over 150 poetry entries were received from throughout Herkimer, Oneida and Madison counties and the Town of Inlet for this year’s contest. 

Participants whose poems and illustrations win or receive honorable mentions in their categories will have an opportunity to read and/or discuss their work.

The judges for the poetry contest are Paula Roy and Paul Kocak and the judges for the illustrations are Martha Deming and Loretta Lepkowski.

The “Times Gone By” exhibit will be hung on March 24 by the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

All entries will remain on display in the library wing through May 22nd. If you are unable to attend the reception please stop by during library hours to vote for your favorite entry in the People’s Choice category.
