Two local individuals will be honored at the upcoming 6th Annual Herkimer County STOP-DWI Law Enforcement Recognition Breakfast for their efforts in curbing drinking and driving in their community.
The two honorees from Old Forge will be Town of Webb Patrolman A.J. Silverman and Gisele Kress, representing MAC’s Safe Ride, the area’s free late night transportation service that has provided a safe ride home for 13,000 passengers since its inception in December 2010.
Kress, co-founder of MAC’s, also educates children about the consequences of drinking and driving. Her program is presented with the help of area schools.
Among her educational initiatives is a bi-yearly interactive presentation to driver’s education students at the Town of Webb School.
The breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at Herkimer County Community College Rooms 282/283.
Sign-in will be held from at 8:15 to 8:30 a.m. with the program set to begin at 8:45 a.m.
