Stephen J. Carter, 60, passed away December 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer in Sarasota, FL. Stephen married Phyllis Bolmer, formerly of Old Forge, and over the last 16 years vacationed every year in the Adirondack Mountains. 
He is survived by his wife, four children, four grandchildren, mother, three brothers, one sister, several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Harry.
Steve loved the peace and beauty of the Adirondacks and the genuine friendships and family that grew over the years.
Services were held at Suncoast Community Church in Sarasota and also at the Amer-ican Legion Post #810 in Philadelphia, PA where he grew up.
There will be a burial service at Riverview Cemetery in Old Forge upcoming on August 12, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.
