Old Forge’s View named among Best Museums outside N.Y. City

View, the arts center in Old Forge, was named as one of “The Best New York Museums Outside of NYC” in the February edition of the online magazine, New York States of Mind, a new digital magazine that highlights the best people, places, products and ideas in and from New York state.

The publication highlighted 10 museums/galleries on its list and described View as: “Tucked away right in the Adirondacks is a haven for visual and performing arts that plays off of the natural and local beauty of the area.

An annual gem is the Adiron-dacks National Exhi-bition of American Watercolors, typically in late-summer, that showcases the wide range of possibilities within this singular medium.”

There is also mention of Christian Carson’s Yardwork exhibition which is currently on display through March 2nd.

A photograph from the exhibit accompanies the piece.

Among the other museums named in the article were  Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica and the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown.
