Annual Frozen Fire & Lights: Inlet planning day of family fun

The Town of Inlet is getting ready for its 12th annual Frozen Fire & Lights on Saturday, February 22—a fun-filled day for the whole family.

The winter festival will include a book sale, ice skating, sledding and cross-country skiing opportunities at Fern Park, bonfires and fireworks.

A new addition to the day will be 120cc and Kitty Kat Fun Run races that will start at 3 p.m. at Fern Park.

Registration for the 4th Annual Cardboard Sled Race at Fern Park starts at 12:15 p.m. with the races beginning at 1 p.m.

This is the second of five in the Adirondack Cardboard Sled Race Circuit which began at Long Lake’s Winter Carnival on January 18th.

To qualify to win, you must enter the same sled in at least three of the five available races.

The remaining races are all scheduled for Sunday, February 16th.

The Redneck Cardboard & Duct Tape Sled Race will be held at 1 p.m. in Indian Lake and also at 1 p.m. during Oak Mountain’s Famous Cardboard Sled Race.

The final opportunity will be at 3 p.m. at McCauley Mountain during the Old Forge Winter Carnival.

Beginning at 5 p.m. there will be a bonfire at Arrowhead Park with free hot dogs and hot cider.

A fireworks display at the park will begin at 7 p.m., followed by Wine and Chocolate Sampling at Matt’s Draft House at Screamen Eagle.

The town is currently seeking contributions for the fireworks display, and anyone interested in making a donation can stop by the Information Office or call (315) 357-5501.
