Ola Helen Chase Austin of Gales Ferry, CT, formerly of Old Forge, died October 18, 2013 following a long illness.
Born July 11, 1924 in Utica, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ola Denio Chase. She married Ralph Austin of Old Forge in 1944.
She was a 1942 graduate of the Town of Webb Schools and received her RN from Memorial Hospital of Utica in 1945. Mrs. Austin worked for the Veterans Administration Hospitals and The Visiting Nurse Association before retiring in 1984.
She was a life member of the Old Forge Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sisters, Jane Breakey of Eagle Bay and Amy LaBombard of Midland, TX, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Arrangements and interment were private, held at the convenience of the family.
