Scheduling for the Mid-term (1/21-1/24)and Regents (1/27-1/31) week has started with the mid-year point fast approaching.

Our Holiday Collage Concert will take place this Wednesday, 12/18 at 7pm in the gymnasium under the direction of Emily Herrmann.

Our students performed well in the vocal concerts last week with the Jr./Sr. High on Thursday and the K-5 Elementary on Friday. Val Gaudin did a terrific job with each group.

We will be dismissing all students at 2pm on Friday before the break.

Our Spirit Week Assembly is taking place at 12pm on Friday, 12/20 in the gymnasium.

The school operated on a 2-hour delay schedule on Friday, December 13th. This went smoothly for students, faculty and staff with the processes that were put in place prior.

Try-outs began today for Annie Get Your Gun under the direction of Val Gaudin.

There is a volleyball game taking place tonight in the gym as well as on Saturday at noon if you would like to come out and support our girls.

Superintendent’s Report included the topics:

Ms. Griffin has started meeting with students for scheduling for next year. At this point we have not added any classes nor have we taken any options off the list. Mr. Swick and I are working on taking an initial look at the schedule to determine class section needs based on projected populations and how that may impact any offerings. These meetings create a “wish list” by giving us numbers of students requesting particular courses.

Thank you to all the students and staff that give extra of themselves this time of year to either organize events with our students or for the benefit of the larger community.

Budget requests are due into the business office this week so that Ms. Dunn and I can begin working on the 2014-2015 budget with real numbers.

In both the shorter and longer range we should be looking at our infrastructure and needs related to building projects as our building continues to age. Our budget has been able to handle many of our needs in the past years in terms of the smaller projects but we do have the potential for some larger needs coming up that the budget will not handle nor was it designed to. O&M will be charged with this initial duty.

The fitness center will be closed during our two week holiday break allowing construction to happen on the doors and flooring as designed and managed by March Associates.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

On Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. the next meeting is scheduled in the Library.
