A fond farewell from the Walley Family

An open letter to the community:

On behalf of the Walley family, I would like to take this opportunity to express our love, admiration, and heartfelt thanks to the entire community.

As some of you may have already heard, we are relocating to Jefferson, Georgia. Naturally, such a move carries with it a sense of anticipation and excitement. At the same time, however, we also feel a considerable measure of sadness and loss.

Our connection to this area goes back four generations, starting with my grandparents. Then, twenty years ago, having dreamed of making the Adirondacks our permanent home for quite some time, Sue and I decided to take the plunge. It was, to be sure, one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Of course, it goes without saying that the natural beauty we enjoy here in the Adirondacks is unsurpassed. Moreover, the hope that our children would thrive in such a setting has been fulfilled, with our exceptional Town of Webb School earning special recognition.

In the end, though, the greatest “natural resource” we have benefited from are the people that make up this community. It would be nearly impossible to convey, to anyone who hasn’t lived here, the degree of spirit, determination, and togetherness we all share. Thankfully, we were able to experience it firsthand, and it has truly been a blessing.

Unfortunately, due to my increasing inability to deal with cold weather, we have been forced to make a change. But for that single factor, we would have never considered leaving this wonderful place.

So, to the many friends and neighbors we have come to know, please accept our humble thanks for all that you are and all you have meant. And know that you shall remain in our hearts forever. Until we meet again, we wish you the very best.

Sincerely,

Chuck, Sue, Tina,

and Troy Walley
