Children’s book signings to feature authors Phinney, Best, and the VanRipers

Children’s Book Signings have been scheduled locally to coincide with the holiday season’s Christmas on Main Street events in Old Forge and Inlet.

Nancy Pulling Best will sign copies of her children’s book, Anna the Spider, at the Old Forge Hardware on Friday, November 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and The Adirondack Reader in Inlet from 2 to 4 p.m.

Best, a Thendara native and Town of Webb School graduate, enlisted the artistic talents of Mat Capron, also a Webb graduate, in illustrating the book.

Anna the Spider, along with Best’s first book, Cooking Adirondack are available at both book stores.

Anne Phinney, local author of “Finding My Way to Moose River Farm: Living with Animals in the Adirondacks,” will bring some of the animals featured in her book to Hollister’s Trading Post at 3286 State Route 28 on Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a book signing.

Free face painting will accompany the event from noon to 2 p.m., as well as on Saturday.

Justin and Gary VanRiper, authors of the Adirondack Kids series of books will be signing copies of their books at The Adirondack Reader on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
