Old Forge/Inlet: Halloween events scheduled throughout the area

Activities are planned throughout the week in celebration of Halloween.

Community members of all ages are invited to the Old Forge Library’s annual Halloween Costume Contest and Party on Friday, October 25 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded in both the adult and children’s costume categories. There will be refreshments and craft projects, and photos of each participant will be taken.

The Inlet Youth Commission will also host its annual Halloween Parade and Party on Friday, October 25th. Parade line-up begins at 6:30 p.m. at the parking lot between St. Anthony’s Church and the Church of the Lakes on Main Street.

Following the parade through town, all are invited to the Inlet Emergency Services Building for costume judging and refreshments.

The annual Pumpkin Fest, hosted by the Central Adirondack Association, will be held at the Old Forge Fire Hall on Saturday, October 26 from 4 to 7 p.m.

There will be pumpkin carving, face painting, a haunted walk and Halloween treats. Kiwanis Key Club members will assist the CAA with the event.

The Old Forge Fire Department’s Halloween Costume Parade and Party will take place, as always, on Halloween, Thursday, October 31.

The parade will begin at the Old Forge Post Office at 7 p.m. and end at the fire hall where kids will show off their costumes and traditional festivities will commence.
