View arts center announces variety of workshops for month of October

View will be offering several workshops this fall with five beginning next week.

Beginner to Intermediate Pottery will be held on Tuesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. from October 1 through November 5th.

The classes are perfect for those individuals who have never taken a pottery class before or those who want to take their skills to the next level.

Beginners will work on building fundamental skills and more experienced students will continue to build on those skills. Instruction will also include a hand built project.

All works created will be glazed and fired.

The cost is $140 or $120 for View members. There is also a $35 materials fee. The instructor is Marie Imundo.

Plant a Recycled Bottle Holiday Gift workshop will be held Tuesday, October 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Create a self-sustaining, low maintenance, closed environment mini eco-system in a recycled glass bottle for a bottle garden that can last for years.

The cost is $12 or $10 for View members. All materials are supplied. The instructor is Thea Martin

Rustic Pine Cone Holiday Wreath workshop will be held Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will create an organic wreath using local pinecones.

Garden Basket workshop will be held Saturday October 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parti-cipants will be making large baskets with an oak handle in a choice of accent colors.

The cost is $60 or $55 for View members. There is also a $30 materials fee. The instructor is Barbara Green of Adirondack Green House Basketry.

Shutter Aperture ISO workshop will be held Saturday, October 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. In this comprehensive photography workshop, students will gain a fundamental understanding of digital camera operation.

Additionally students will be able to master the camera’s important features and know when to use them.

The cost is $70 or $60 for View members. The instructor is Eric Mishalanie
