Tuesday, Sept. 10th Town of Forestport ballot among region’s busiest for next week’s primaries

Area political parties will be holding their primary elections on Tuesday, September 10th to determine which candidates will be representing them in the November general elections.

The Town of Forestport will hold a Republican primary for the offices of Town Supervisor, Highway Superintendent and two seats on the Town Council.

For Town Supervisor, Parker Snead is running against incumbent William A. Hasenauer. For Highway Superintendent, Louis J. Sowich is challenging incumbent William G. Gardner.

Brian J. Albert, Charles E. Scott, Brian P. Judge and Ronald J. Scouten are vying for two vacating seats on the Town Council.

In the Town of Long Lake a Republican primary will be held for the offices of Town Council-person and Town Clerk/Tax Collector.

There are two Town Council seats up for reelection. Lew A. Plumley and Dean H. Pohl are being challenged by John W. Adams in the primary. Plumley, Pohl and Adams have all filed independent, as has a fourth candidate Thomas Donnelly. All four will be on the General Ballot in November.

Colleen E. Smith will run against incumbent Dixie Lee Le Blanc for Town Clerk/Tax Collector in the Primary. Both have filed independent and will be on the General Ballot in November.

Also appearing on the General Ballot in November are Republican Clark J. Seaman, Town Supervisor and Charles H. Farr II, representing both the Democrat and the Bull Moose Party, who is running for Superintendent of Highways.

There are no primaries being held in the Town of Webb or Inlet.

Running unopposed in the the Town of Webb general election will be Republican Supervisor Theodore C. Riehle Jr., Democrat Councilwoman Kate Russell, Republican Councilman Michael Ross, Republican Town Clerk Nanci T. Russell, Republican Superintendent of Highways Casey Crofut and Republican Tax Collector Kelly Hunkins.

Officials running unopposed in the Town of Inlet are Republican John B. Frey for Town Supervisor, Democrat Patricia M. Wittmeyer for Town Clerk, and Republican Shawn R. Hansen for Superintendent of Highways.

Also, Democrat Michael J. Marleau for Town Justice, Republican Herbert W. Schmid  for Councilperson “Seat A”, Republican Timothy P. Brownsell for Councilperson “Seat B” and Republican Linda D. Nelson for Town Tax Collector.
