Pianist Arthur McManus will accompany returning tenor Luigi Boccia and rising Irish soprano, Claudia Boyle, recent winner of the Interna-tional Maria Callas Award.

The first half of the performance features operatic pieces while the second half will cover broadway favorites in a combination of solos and duets. The diversity of pieces are intended for broad audience appeal.

“Mixing opera with Broadway is a wonderful way to present singers and show their versatility,” says McManus who also praised View’s Gould Hall great acoustics.

Arthur McManus returns as the accompanying pianist. “He is an indispensable part of the event,” said organizer Deke Morrison who applauded McManus for his work in setting up the program, working with the singers as well as providing the musical accompaniment.

McManus collaborated with numerous singers in the New York metropolitan area for over 20 years and served as pianist for master classes as well as in the studio for Metropolitan Opera baritone Theodor Uppman.

Boccia and McManus have performed together numerous times before and Boccia and Boyle performed together in La Traviata in Dublin this past June. McManus was there for the performance and noted, “their voices combine in a wonderful way.”

Generous sponsors help pay for performance fees as well as house, feed and offer Adirondack hospitality to the performers.

The Broadway Meets Opera performances were sold out the last two years, so Morrison encourages people to get their tickets early.

Tickets for limited reserved seating and general admission are on sale now for $35 via the web at Viewarts.org or by stopping by View.
