Letter to the Editor:

Thank you for successful Freedom March

To the Editor:

First and foremost, I would like to thank our amazing community because without you, nothing I have done would have been possible.

On Sunday June 23, 2013, myself along with fifteen motivated individuals set forth down South Shore Road from Fern Park in Inlet marking the beginning of the Second Annual Freedom March of the Adirondacks.

Following the thirteen-mile half marathon was the five-kilometer road race, which brought in thirteen additional participants, bringing the total number of participants to twenty-eight individuals.

Over the course of this year’s event, over $2,000 was raised, twenty local sponsorships were formed and over ten gift certificates and special package deals to local business were awarded.

After all expenses, the Freedom March of the Adiron-dacks has donated $1,200 to the local American Legion Post 893 along with $800 to Utica’s Sitrin Rehabilitation Center.

A special thanks to all participants, volunteers and anyone else who helped make this event possible. I’d like to recognize Cheryl and Sylvia from Sitrin, Dave from Winslow Services, Mike Farmer from the Town of Webb Tourism Office, Joan and Mary Marks from Van Aukens Inne, Chrissy from the Adirondack Express, Barb and Bill Baumann from Wrap City ‘N Glue, LLC, Donna Meyers, Charlie Winslow from the Steak House Restaurant and Ryan from the Old Mill Restaurant. Without these individuals, the Freedom March wouldn’t be possible.

We do have event t-shirts which are available for purchase by either calling myself at (315) 369-5740 or by emailing me at patrick@thefreedommarch.org.

Shirts are $10 each and we have a limited stock, so be sure to contact me as soon as possible to see if we still have your size.

Thank you for your continued support of the Freedom March of the Adirondacks and I look forward to next year’s event!

Sincerely,

Patrick H. Venetz, Founder,
