15th Annual Inlet Concert: Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to present Latin-themed program under tent, Saturday, July 6

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will return to play under the tent at Inlet’s Arrowhead Park on Saturday, July 6 for the 15th annual symphony concert presented by the Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council, Inc.

This year’s program will be Latin-themed and will include favorites from Carmen and the overture to West Side Story, according to Jerry Dupuis, FCLPAC chairman of the board.

The program also includes George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, sections from Mitch Leigh’s Man of La Mancha, and Huapango by Jose Pablo Moncayo, which Dupuis described as “a bouncy, energetic piece.”

“It’s a fantastic program, with all of the beats that Latin music conjures up. Conductor Michael Butterman selected the entire program and has planned a surprise ending,” Dupuis said.

On Saturday afternoon, also under the tent, two quartets will play a free children’s concert for ages 12 and under from 3 to 4 p.m.

The children’s concert is sponsored by Commu-nity Bank N.A.

The evening concert starts promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 and on sale now through concert day at the Inlet and Old Forge Visitor Information Offices and at the tent prior to the concert.

Lawn seating is $10 and only available on the night of the concert.

A cocktail party will be held at the Woods Inn from 4 to 7 p.m.

Tickets are $110 and include preferred concert seating.

The exciting program also includes George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, sections from Mitch Leigh’s Man of La Mancha and Jose Pablo Moncayo’s “bouncy, energetic piece” Huapango says Dupuis.
