The fifth and sixth grade students of Deb Daiker at the Inlet Common School had a full day on Friday, June 7 as they visited a few New York state landmarks while on a school trip.

First stop for the kids was Howe Caverns where they took a tour of the caves and mined for gems. They then traveled to the Capitol Building in Albany and visited the office of area representative, Senator Hugh Farley. Because Senator Farley is only in his Albany office on Mondays and Wednesdays, the group enjoyed a tour of the Capitol and learned of its history from a Farley staffer.

Following the tour they visited the New York State Museum. On the way back home they made a stop in Lake George where they had dinner.

The students were accompanied by Deb Daiker, Matt Newman and Ann Powley.
